Monday 16th June - walk ***** – Around Felixstowe – sunny and hot.

Woke to a sunny, warm morning so decided to have a drive round to take a few weather pics, leaving home at 6.30 I headed down to Felixstowe pier first, continuing onto the cliff top car park to take a few pics of the poppies which were covered in bees. Then onto Felixstowe where I saw the very sad sight of a dead fox club in the road, probably someone driving too fast:( After a few pics of the boats I stopped at Brackenbury for some beach hut shoots and was pleased when the lovely Chris Page used one on ITV’s About Anglia, the same pic was also chosen as an BBC Editors Pick and was featured online but sadly it did not make it onto the TV!
Back to bed for a drink and do the usual word games, with no plans for today I was going to do my exercises and then go for a picnic somewhere. We then had a message from our son Dan saying their problems with leaking pipes was continuing and he had taken the morning off to assist the plumber so we asked if we could take Maeva to help them out to which they said yes! Dan brought Maeva at 11, had a shower and then went to work! Maeva helped Mag hang out the washing, throw a few pine cones before asking for something to eat, her favourite crackers and cheese triangles. I then packed a picnic and we left home just after one to walk down to Jacobs Ladder for a picnic on the beach, after being very hot in our back garden it was very pleasant down on the seafront with a nice onshore breeze! We found a great spot a 100m from the end of the prom to enjoy our picnic as the little waves splashed against the wooden groyne with sea gulls overhead with a few yachts out enjoying the wonderful weather! We then had loads of fun with water in our picnic containers and coffee cups, Maeva just loves playing with water even through she is not so keen on bath time! It was really quiet too on this part of the beach, we had been there for ages before returning home, up through the Spa Garden with Maeva dozing off! She woke as soon as we got home for a drink and cake, plus the usual books and puzzles with Granny before Mag took her home at 5, what a top day with a bonus visit from Maeva and a pic on the telly.
The sea breeze did arrive around 4 making it OK for a windsurf foil but the tide was high and I was knackered so decided to give it a miss especially as I was knackered from walking 3 miles!
